spacer Gametalk Message Board
Works of fiction -- whether those of stories, movies, plays, or games -- are worlds of shared reality. Somewhere, deep in the minds of a million people, Lessa rides Ramoth triumphantly skyward, Luke fights for his life in the clausterphobic depths of Cloud City, and Gabriel Knight struggles against insanity in the grip of a werewolf's curse. And while those pages are turning, or the celluloid clicks through the projector, or the monitor glows in a darkened room, we can all momentarily believe the illusion that these fantasies are utter truth.

And they make for great conversation.

So long as we are all sharing the fabulous, invented reality of computer games, we'd might as well get to know each other. That's what message boards are all about.

The Gametalk board has only two rules:
1) Respect your fellow posters, no matter how bizarre their opinions might seem.
2) Please refrain from profanity and non-game topics.

Anyone caught breaking these rules will receive three whacks from the Ugly Stick and a copy of Outpost. (Be afraid.)

Message board closed -- see News page.

Gamepro Guests
Periodically, we will suggest a topic of discussion -- finding a publisher, 3D programming, game marketing, shareware development, or whatever else sounds intriguing -- and bring in an industry professional to participate in the conversation for a week.

Most Recent Guest: Gary Spinrad
Last November, Gary "Claymore" Spinrad, composer and sound engineer for Sierra On-Line, dropped by for a discussion of game music and sound effects. If you're interested in composition or audio engineering, check out the transcript. spacer
