Production posers from previous weeks:
Ask Da Man
The Question: "From what I've heard is that Sierra has shut
down several games, such as Cry.Sys, Capitol Punishment,
and Cloak, while they were well into development. I was
wondering how do you decide when a game no longer holds any
appeal for the market?"
The Question: "I've noticed that some games are
released significantly later than they are originally planned
for, while others are perfectly on time. How do you go about
keeping a game 'on track' so that it gets to stores on
time?"
The Question: "For a large scale game... say something like
Fallout... how many people does the development team
consist of, and what are their jobs?"
The Question: "Does the person responsible for the idea of a
game get to become the designer/producer of that game, or if
not what do they end up doing?"
The Question: "What does it take to get to 'Producer'
status? Does it take a long list of accomplishments to get
that title? Can an 'artist/game addict' get such a
position?"
The Question: "At what point do you start promoting an
upcoming game? And how does the PR process work?"
The Question: "Does the producer choose
who to be on a development team? And does the game
designer choose who to be the producer?"
