And the Question is...

"What sort of diet do game developers live on, anyway?"

Submitted by: Kick, the Rubber Chicken of Doom

Answered by: Several unhinged developers from Sierra On-Line

Mike sez: "Orange juice, whole grain cereal, milk, apples, tunafish sandwiches (yawn...)"

Gary the Mad Scot sez: "Oddly enough, Oatmeal. A simple yet substatial breakfast that allows me to focus on the task at hand."

Bryan sez: "The answer for me is whatever is handy. For example, Cindy walks out of Brendan's office with a loaf of bread. I plead for a chunk and consume it. Also handy today were twinkies and ding-dongs. Much soda and coffee. Mmmm coffee..."

Cindy sez: "Anything which hasn't been in the fridge long enough to evolve."

Brendan sez: "Cereal (hey, breakfast is the most important meal of the day). What kind? What difference? I'm not aware enough that early to really taste anything. So long as it's crunchy, we're cool.

"Soda (Mountain Dew and/or Coca-Cola - usually and).

"Lunch is anything I can eat at my desk that's at least somewhat tasty - home cooked food is best (my wife makes a mean jambalaya, and her chicken n' kniffle is fantastic), but a sandwich'll get me through, or even one of the better brands of cup-o-soup (like Nile). Oh, and bread - can't forget niiiiice crunchy bread....

"More soda.

"Dinner is usually whatever a significant number of people can agree to - that means a lotta Thai (mmmm.... Phad Thai), pasta, tacos... whatever.

"More soda.

"Now, bear in mind that you have to take into account the occasional screaming urge to take a walk outside, in which case we'll usually head up to the grocery store, and pick up something bad for us from the fried foods counter.

"We've also got a weekend dinner group thing going here - we'll get together some weekends, and someone'll come up with one of the better (but more obscure) places in town to eat. I'm proud to say that our (that is, the one Cindy and I have been going to for years - Tsuruya, in Lynnwood) sushi place got high marks by all.

"Did I mention soda?"

John sez: "Dr. Pepper and.... hmmm.......... Dr. Pepper."

Joe sez: "Hmmm... lets see. There's ding-dongs, twinkies, twix, krackle, reese's peanut butter cups. There's dr. pepper, mountain dew, iced tea, hot apple cider (in the winter). And thai food, chicken strips and jalapeno poppers. Extra strength excedrin for dessert. Come to think of it, its a miracle I'm still alive. Must be the water and multi-vitamins.

"I am working on a theory concerning the direct photosynthetic conversion of crt radiation into glucose."
