Comments: Anime is full of quirky friendships -- after all, friendship is one of the driving themes of shounen manga and anime -- and this one kind of pegs the meter for quirkiness. The feral forest boy and the suave, seasoned little killer: they may not be the most plausible of pairs, but the story makes their rock-solid relationship eminently believable. I wish I'd had a best buddy like this when I was a kid!
